Since its founding in 1983, the Ocracoke Preservation Society (OPS), a non-profit, community-based organization, has been dedicated to preserving the cultural heritage of Ocracoke Island, North Carolina. Our goal is to provide access to education, research, and exploration of the island’s rich history and culture through programs, events, and exhibits. We invite you to explore this site, and come to the museum to learn more about the fascinating history of Ocracoke!
10th Annual "Ocracoke Through Your Eyes" Art Auction

OPS's 2024 Art Auction will display a range of artworks, from photography and paintings to quilts. Online bidding will run from March 16th until 11:59 PM on March 29th. In-person bidding will be from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on March 30th.

About the event
The in-person bidding for the 10th Annual "Ocracoke Through Your Eyes" Art Auction will be held at the Ocracoke Community Center from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on March 30th!
Online bidding will begin on March 16th, with artworks that have already been donated to us. As artworks arrive, they will be added to the online bidding. Online bidding closes on March 29th at midnight. Every year, OPS hosts an art auction fundraiser with donated works from local artists as well as Ocracoke friends from far wide. The proceeds of the fundraiser go towards our General Fund, which helps us pay for our most needed projects.
