Experience the local treasures of historic Ocracoke Island, both past and present.  On Friday November 28, OPS will celebrate history and culture on the island with the first Historic Home Tour since Hurricane Dorian, a holiday lighting of the Commons, Parade of Boats, and a concert by the Ocrafolk Opry.

Four historic homes along Lighthouse Road and Howard Street will be featured on the tour from 2-4 pm.  The tour will culminate at 4:30 pm with a first look at the ongoing renovation of the Island Inn where the history of the Inn will be shared by two local island elders, Philip Howard and Al Scarborough.

Built in 1901, the Inn has been a school, Navy officer’s club, hotel and more.  Purchased by OPS through community participation, the building is being renovated for use as a community, education and visitors center.

Tickets are $50 each (a tax deductible donation to OPS) and are expected to go quickly.  Purchase through donation box below.
